What is Rotary ? ...... "Rotary joins leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations to exchange ideas and take action, both locally, and communities around the world."
The Minnetonka Rotary was chartered on October 17, 1990, made up of people who live or work in the Hopkins / Minnetonka area. We are approximately 60 members strong and are a part of Rotary District 5950 that is a regional organization of 66 Rotary Clubs and 3100 members. Both of these Rotary Organizations are a part of Rotary International, which has over 35,000 clubs and 1.2 million members world wide.
The Minnetonka Rotary is proud to be part of these larger organizations, but is a local community group that believes in serving our community. We don’t aspire to change the world, but we do want to be part of the solution and not the problem. We want to make a difference in our community and help in a world that has many challenges. We meet every Wednesday at 7:15AM. Our meeting has an easy, friendly format, an interesting speaker, and breakfast is available. We finish promptly at 8:30AM, because we know that the rest of the world is waiting for us to participate; and after being involved for an hour in a Rotary Meeting we are ready to meet and greet the world too.

Let me summarize: The Minnetonka Rotary is a service organization in the Hopkins / Minnetonka area that believes in Rotary International's motto of “Service Above Self”. Our motto says we focus upon “Building Responsible Youth” in a variety of ways in our community. We also help and support a bigger picture that includes polio eradication, clean water, feeding people, emergency relief, and other challenges in the world. Every Rotary Club is different and the Minnetonka Rotary wants to do all of these serious things but to have some fun at the same time. So in a little more light hearted manner we have a secondary motto... “The club that’s more fun than you want it to be” ….and if you want to find out what that’s all about we’ll see you at our meeting next Wednesday, at 7:15AM in room #233 at the Eisenhower Community Center, which is located at 1001 Hiway 7.
